BORIS is a Sludge, Doom, Stoner Rock, Noise band from Japan formed during the early Nineties, the band name was inspired by a MELVINS song. Soundwise they are very weird, variable and inspiring, from brutal doomy to melodic Rock-style, yes MELVINS are one or their main influences but also KILLDOZER, NEUROSIS, SONIC YOUTH, … .
