DOWNFALL OF GAIA is a Doom Metal, Black Metal, Crust band from Germany and was formed in the year 2008. From the Doom, Sludge, Crust, Punk roots in their early years the band changed their style into more and more metallic sound, with their fourth album „Atrophy“, DOWNFALL OF GAIA is very close to dark, depressive and epic modern Black Metal but with political approach. Current material of the band is Post Black Metal in the best sense of this term, „Atrophy“ presents a further exploration of their sound, the band drifts into dark and darker spheres of their „personal“ apocalypse, ultra aggressive but also mega depressive songs are piling up on this album, without any doubt DOWNFALL OF GAIA is an outstanding band and deserves more attention in the Underground Metal, Black Metal scene.
