In the year 1992 the international Metal scene was hit hard by a real surprise: with the „new“ KREATOR album called „Renewal“ the band left their path of fast and destructive Thrash Metal and released more experimental material. KREATOR always made many musical experiments and only their early albums offered really raw and brutal we-spit-in-your-face Thrash Metal, but on „Renewal“ the surprised listener found slightly psychadelic sequences, atypical melody lines and breaks, non-conform solos and less aggressive vocals, yes it still is a great Metal album but a lot of Industrial and Hardcore elements got included. Overall „Renewal“ is a dark, piece of brooding but menacing work of Metal with a twisted atmosphere, but even in this very odd form it attracted a lot of Metal fans. For shure it´s not easy listening material and the open-minded listener might need some more time to fall in love with songs like „Europe After The Rain“, „Renewal“ or „Depression Unrest“, but in the end a lot of you will come to the decision that you´ve bought a superb album.
The original pressing of „Renewal“ was done as 12″ LP in the year 1992 by NOISE INTERNATIONAL, Germany.
Over the top official re-release on Transparent Green vinyl, housed in a thick gatefold cover and with printed innersleeves (sleevenotes from Mille Petrozza are added too). This double LP includes the original (but remastered) songs plus three bonus tracks.
